IT’S A WRAP

We had a great 350mi race with five birds on the drop, a beautiful Redding Indian Summer day, long time friendships renewed and great food. 

Now we need to finish up and get some birds home, Please call 530-941-9360 or e-mail me as to what you want done with your birds, after Nov 3^rd they will become property of the Shasta Classic.

The birds were up to the task on the 350 this year, with five on the drop and a total of 78 on the day and 131 returning out of 153 going to the Race.

Our Grizzle Race had 19 Grizzles in it with Carl Perry winning it with the 9^th bird overall in the race, you Grizzle guys better get with it for 2009; we will have the Grizzle race again.

Our format for 2009 will have some major changes.  Now that we will be using Terry Gilmores software, (http://www.wincompanion.com/) we will do a FOUR RACE SEIRES: Using Average Speed to determine ACE BIRD.

9/22/09 Race 1: 135mi AVE SP only

9/29/09 Race 2: 175mi AVE SP and Crap Shoot

10/06/09 Race 3: 250mi AVE SP : First Drop will Spilt $12,500.00

10/18/09 Race 4: 350mi AVE SP : Pay Out Break down will be the same as 2008

ACE BIRD: $6,250.00

Pay outs based on 250 birds going to the first Race.

I am expanding the loft to hold 400 birds, I had to turn birds away last year, we are taking reservations now for 2009, Please make your reservation early so as not to be shut out.
